45 Langstroth beehives bring honey to school meals at Nairrabala

Our apiculture partnership with African Beekeepers Ltd is protecting pollinators, curbing charcoal burning and feeding students.

In partnership with African Beekeepers Ltd, the project installed 45 Langstroth beehives at Nairrabala Primary School.

Community members learned that bees depend on acacia flowers for nectar to make honey — a powerful reason to protect the trees. Charcoal burning, once rife in the area, has been curbed.

Honey from the apiary now supplements the school feeding program, and proceeds from sales support conservation activities.
